How the 8th Pay Commission Directly Impacts Central Civil Pensioners
India currently supports over 68 Lakh Central Government pensioners and family pensioners. Whenever a new Pay Commission is implemented, pensions are revised under parity principles.
The Fundamental Pension Formula
Under Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, regular basic pension is fixed at 50% of the last drawn basic pay (or average emoluments of the last 10 months, whichever is more beneficial), subject to a minimum qualifying service of 10 years.
